The Importance of the Weight Loss Support System
Ask anyone who has tried to lose weight and they will tell you that it’s never easy. It takes determination and lots of will power. It is extremely difficult because we are surrounded by the foods, snacks and beverages that we love. You can’t watch television, listen to the radio, see a movie or read a magazine without coming face to face with fattening foods. Old habits are hard to break and snacking is one of the hardest. It’s difficult to resist snacking when your will power is strong, but when it’s weak, especially late at night when you are bored or feeling down, it’s almost impossible.
We all want to learn how to lose weight and eat healthier, but it is difficult to actually do either on a daily basis. That’s why a support system is so beneficial. Your family and friends are there for you, but they don’t always want to hear the trials and tribulations you are going through. Through the Internet, you can communicate anonymously 24/7 with people who are having the same problems as you. You can both give and get advice. That support and encouragement will help you lose weight and keep it off.
The reason that both online and face to face support groups work is accountability. You have to regularly share with other dieters information about the foods you eat, the amount of exercise you do, and the amount of weight you have lost. This will make you feel like you are in control of your weight problem. If, for example, you report increased physical activity and a resulting weight loss, you are motivating yourself and others to exercise. In return, dieters can tell you how they lost weight through a specific exercise regimen.
If you are ready to join a group - we have a few openings!

Each team be it Heartbreakers, Natural Elements AND Fitness Fanatics are allowed to have 30 members per team for weigh in. Whether or not each team retains the maximum allowed us up to the team leaders.
Our team captain works extra hard to retain a full roster.
Now, for what we expect from members. We don’t expect any more from you than we do for ourselves or than you should expect from yourself. We expect you to do your best!! Whether you post it or not, we expect you to have a plan for your eating and we expect you to try to stick to it at least 6 days per week. If you don’t have a plan, let us know and we may be able to help you develop one. We would also like for you to workout at least 5 days per week and try for 6. If you don’t have a workout plan, let us know and we can help with that, too.
Last, but most importantly, we expect you to show up on time for weigh in every week. If for some reason you are not going to be able to weigh in on a particular week, let us know ahead of time. We know that there may be emergencies or problems that keep us from getting on the computer. However, those should be few and far between. This team is made up of some pretty awesome people who work their butts off to get us a win every week. We depend on each team member to do his or her part. It only takes a couple of minutes to reply to an e-mail and we should all be able to handle that! So, here’s what we think of no-shows-We don’t like them and don’t want them!!! Here’s what we will do: If you do not respond to the weekly weigh-in message by the 10:00 am cutoff time, we’ll send you an e-mail that afternoon to find out what happened. If we don’t get a response from you by 7:00 pm on Monday, for the good of the team we will have to give your spot to someone else. If you get back to us after the cutoff time and have a legitimate reason for not weighing in and not responding to the message, we’ll work you back on the team just as soon as there is another opening. Remember, you can always weigh in early if you need to. Also, please don’t “no-show” for weigh-in because you’ve gained weight, or haven’t lost any weight! Weight fluctuations occur regularly, and we will NEVER judge you or make you feel bad about it! We will just continue to support and encourage you to do your very best! We will all have “off” weeks sometimes, but the key is to get back on plan as soon as possible, and the support of your teammates will help you do that!
We will send you a weigh-in reminder each Thursday, and all you need to do in order to weigh-in for each week is respond to the e-mail with your current weight before Friday at 10:00 am! Latest weigh in accepted is on Sunday morning before final tally report by all team.
If you have ANY QUESTIONS about ANYTHING ANYTHING AT ALL, PLEASE CONTACT THE WILDCATS TEAM LEADERS NANCY AND GINA TO CLARIFY ANY ISSUES.
One note: Accurate weigh in is very important. If you lost 2 lbs, report your 2 lbs loss. If you lost 1.3 lbs, report a 1.3 lb loss. If you maintained or gained - report those as well.
The wildcats team leaders WILL ONLY report the number you provide. It is not in our interest to adjust your number for the sole purpose of winning.
